“Multimedia is advancing rapidly and is beginning to provide educators with a wealth of potential tools.” (Mukherjee, 2018, p.247). Multimedia can enhance students’ engagement and motivation in classrooms as learning might become interesting and engaging with the support of multimedia, such as videos, images, animations, and interactive simulations (Babiker, 2015).
The variety of media also gave students opportunities to find more suitable ways to enhance learning and express their ideas. The process of students applying their knowledge fostered their creativity, encouraging them to explore and generate new ideas. Moreover, as different students have different learning habits, multimedia can provide a range of ways of presenting content to suit different learning approaches, allowing students to gain a deeper understanding of the content taught, and communicate their views precisely to encourage the development of self-expression and creativity.

Adobe Illustrator is a graphic design program to produce vector graphics, its functions include drawing, painting, and font tools can help with the development of students' creative designs. Mansor et al. (2020) suggested that Adobe Illustrator also has a good impact on students, and can be used as effective learning activities in the classroom. Students' creativity and the development of their own particular design style can be encouraged through the use of various design tools and elements, as well as the critical consideration of the visual elements they use.
To incorporate it into classrooms, students can be asked to create a poster with designs and contents relating to the topic or use this technology to show their understanding of the topic they are learning in other formats. It can be applied in any subject area and is suggested to use as a unit summary activity. The combination of knowledge and design allows students to develop a better understanding of what they have learned and fosters their creativity in the design experience.
Engaging with Adobe Illustrator for EDUC 3620 week 4 tutorial
Hi Yuanyuan,
Your blog post is really well structured and engaging. Your points on multimedia are very informative I do find multimedia a very effective tool to implement in classrooms. Especially as you note that its various amounts of media can be suited to students preference's of learning. Which in terms of teaching content can be very effective as students who find learning content from multimedia such as through a video or audio or even through animation can really help those types of students retain content. Instead of just putting up a power-point with heavy content and just talking over it. Multimedia does really make learning content fun and engaging for students.

Hi Yuanyuan,
Great blog! You have a good understanding of multimedia and explain it very clearly to everyone. I really liked the examples you gave, it was very interesting to look at and at the same time explain how they work. Although it was mentioned that all kinds of subjects apply, would it be more detailed if there was a specific stage or subject?

Hi Yuanyuan,
Great work! You provided great insights on how multimedia fosters creativity. I especially love your thought on how multimedia learning can be personalised for different students with different learning habits. Your analysis on adobe illustrator is lovely too. You mentioned it fosters creativity during the design process, but does it fosters creativity in a specific subject area? I would love to learn more about it.
Overall an easy read, your limitations were well-thought too. 😍
